The Virgin Mary



Are you wondering if The Virgin Mary ever excisted? A woman that brings a Cultus to such a level and yet everybody loves her, earns respect! This is the work of Iris van Zanten. In 1996 she graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts with her paintings of the Virgin Mary. She tried to bring an universal subject as Mariology in a human and literal context. She gets her inspiration from Roman paintings and sculptures.
